The weather on the day of this engagement shoot was blustery, but that just made shooting these two all the more cosy! I loved that they got to interact with the animals on the farm at Belle Meadows, and incorporate those shots in the session. Overall, the day had an English-countryside-esque outcome that we love, with all the brusque Winter character of the barren woods contrasting the warm familiarity of a farm house + delicately strung lights. Cosy cuddles on hay bales just add to the fun. What more could you want for a Autumn/Winter Engagement?
Harper and Matt were such a sweet couple to photograph! Their love for each other is so obvious, which makes my job as photographer that much easier.
Tara + Geoff got married last weekend at the heavenly Hermitage Hotel. Literally: the ceilings are painted a pale sky-blue, dotted with light fluffy clouds. How beautiful is that? “My favorite moment was the first look,” Tara says. “I was sobbing walking the length of the gorgeous veranda at The Hermitage Hotel to Geoff. His back was to me, and I kept thinking the man in the tuxedo is mine, that’s my Geoffrey’s distinctive stance, and all the nerves and three hours of getting ready were for him. I was so ready to see him.” . . .
I love the concept of this sweet engagement session: a record store love story. It’s so full of personality! It was fun as a photographer to get to incorporate Christine + DJ’s knowledge of music, especially when juxtaposed with the softer, sweeter outdoor images later in the session . . .
We’re sharing a very unique wedding this week! Debbie + Oley’s wedding day was steeped in some amazing traditions rooted in their Jewish and Laos cultures . . .
“I choose you to be no other than yourself. Loving what I know of you, and trusting who you will become. I will respect and honor you, always and in all ways. With you I pledge to repair one small piece of the world. I take you to be my spouse, to have and to hold, in tears and in laughter. In sickness and in health. To love and to cherish from this day forward, in this world and the next.”
I can’t describe this wedding without using the word, “breathless.” Whether from the bridal party session on the balcony of the church in downtown Nashville, to the blustery, windy First Look, to the passionate dance party at the reception! It’s catching-your-breath-on-a-roller-coaster sort of excitement…
Setting the stage for today’s wedding is the beautiful old Belle Meade Mansion. The stately old building, softened by an overcast sky was the perfect backdrop for the day, full of character . . .
