SEASONAL SESSIONS

So excited for Kayla and Jared’s wedding next month! Check out their super sweet and fun engagement session! These two are beyond precious together!

These two got married yesterday!! I am so excited to go through all the beautiful moments/photos we captured — until then, here is their gorgeous engagement session!

I knew Andrea long before she ever met John. She a cherished close friend and has modeled for me numerous times!! I was so honored to be able to photograph Andrea and John’s wedding. Their wedding was full of beautiful DIY masterpieces! This vintage wedding, held on family property, was complete with charm and attention to detail. From flea market treasures, vintage china plates and teacups, hand sewn napkins . . .

I admire these two. They’ve been through moves, furthering their education, late nights studying, job changes, more moves, new dreams, and so much more than I even know. And through easy days and hard days, they’ve grown together… They live their lives with zeal — the joy and excitement they express over small things in life makes me smile. They didn’t need a big life changing moment to know that this time in their lives deserves remembrance. Celebrating the small things and the ordinary must be at least one of the keys to a happy life and a happy marriage. 😉 . . .

These two are so incredibly cute. Looking at them there is no way around it, but as you look at these photos, I hope there is something else you notice… gentleness. When I photograph couples, I often get to know them as we hang out… and in turn learn a little of their love story. Alicia, Everett and I began our shoot at a local coffee shop where they told me the story of how their relationship began (as I snapped some candid photos of course). Its a story that involved Everett intentionally seeking Alicia out, Alicia slowly getting to know him, Everett wondering if she wasn’t interested… but not giving up… walking a fine line between persistence and giving Alicia space and time to figure out what she wanted, hoping he wouldn’t get stuck in the “friend zone”.

One of my favorite sessions to date! So much fun playing with this bride… I love it when brides are up for twirling and and laughing, so much joy can be captured!!

Meet Rachael! I had the honor of taking this sweet, fun, courageous lady’s head shots a few weeks back. If you are looking for an Event Coordinator or Florist

I went outside this week for a breath of fresh air and to capture the beauty of this rare Nashville Winter Wonderland. These days I rarely slow down to take photos for myself– this reminded me of how important it is to do just that. . . . This week while photographing the iced branches and leaves outside, I couldn’t help but focus on the importance of perspective. Moving slightly to the left, zooming in, zooming out, changing the focus of my lens to something new — by doing any of these things differently, I could capture a multitude of very different moments, all while photographing the same subject. Its so thrilling to be able to “see” the same object in so many different ways. And suddenly, it struck me that in my own life, I am usually not as excited to view an issue from multiple perspectives. But, why wouldn’t I? When photographing something, it can look horribly dull when standing in one spot, but walk around the subject, find an interesting angle, zoom in so that the light fills the frame and BOOM — dull changed to breathe taking.
