Parks and Rec Themed Wedding
If you know anything about the show “Parks and Rec”, you probably got excited reading the title of this blog! This couple was obviously so much fun and photographing their wedding was such a treat!
Meet Allison + Matt
What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?
Allison: The first look was definitely my favorite part. My wedding dress had been hanging in our closet at home for over a year, and it was so hard to keep it a secret. I was finally ready to show off my dream dress to Matt!
Matt: My favorite moment was a few moments before the ceremony started. We were hanging out with the bridal party in the back area and could hear the music starting to play out in the ceremony space. There was so much positive energy and love in the room that it made all my stress disappear.
What is your proposal story?
At the time, Matt was living in Colorado and Allison lived in Nashville. Matt told Allison he was hanging out with friends in Denver, but instead Matt flew on a plan to Nashville, knocked on Allison’s door ready to propose, but of course, Allison wasn’t home. Eventually Matt had to blow his cover and tell Allison he was in Nashville. He told her to meet him in Elmington Park and the rest is history!
Did your wedding have any particular style themes?
Yes! Our wedding theme was driven by our love for Parks and Recreation. We attempted to balance the silliness with a classy atmosphere by including subtle nods to our favorite TV show. It was important to us that our wedding be light-hearted and personal to us as a couple.
