“This story SHOULD begin on August 3rd, 2013…Michael and Lexie both attended a pool party that day; Michael with his roommate, and Lexie with some church friends. Although there were probably only 30 people there, they didn’t meet. Yet.”
Lexie and Michael didn’t actually meet until 15 months later, when she visited the coffee shop at which he worked at the time, and her friends persuaded her to get his number. The rest, as they say is history, and the two eloped in a very intimate ceremony, with only two close friends and their parents present. Nestled in the cozy atmosphere of Homestead Manor in Thompson Station, the two made their vows, to become forever partners. Their elopement was a natural and romantic affair, enveloped in the Tennessee-history-inspired decor of the manor, and the matchless beauty of a clear October afternoon.

When asked about the choice of an elopement over the traditionally large ceremony, Lexie explains, “I enjoyed having less stress! I’m an already anxious person, and cutting out the noise of expectations helped me to stay present in the moment.” Michael agreed. “I liked the smaller intimate setting. It took a lot of the pressure off having a lot of family and friends in town at once, and feeling responsible for making sure everyone was having a good time.” Instead they focused on each other.

Boy, are we thankful that we got to be apart of this special autumn day — It was a treasure to get to document this precious moment for these precious people!
