The Best Outdoor Summer Photo Locations Franklin TN Has to Offer

If you’re planning summer family photos and wondering where to go, I’ve got you covered! As a Franklin, TN family photographer, I’m sharing some of my very favorite outdoor summer photo locations that are available throughout July and August (and sometimes into September and October, too).

Each one of these spots brings a little magic—whether you want vibrant flowers, peaceful backdrops, or a location your kids can run and play in.

The Flower Garden (Available July–August)

If you’ve followed me for a while, you already know how much I adore this garden. This is the spot for summer photo sessions that feel bright, whimsical, and completely heartwarming.

This year, I’m doing things a little differently: Petite sessions are available all of July and August, and for the first time ever, these garden sessions can include the whole family—not just moms or kids. You can book a petite session anytime without waiting for the Motherhood Mini event!

The Creek

Want to let the kids splash and play while you soak in the moment? The creek is playful and relaxed—the perfect backdrop for family photos that feel like summer memories.

The Field

Simple, golden, timeless. The field gives us that soft, glowy summer light that just never goes out of style. You really can’t go wrong here.

The Tree-Lined Path

This spot brings a little bit of elegance and structure to your session, while still feeling warm and relaxed. The natural frame the trees create is picture-perfect.

The Barn Next Door to the Studio

If you want a little rustic charm or a reliable backup spot (hello, unpredictable summer weather!), the barn delivers. It’s super close to my studio, so it’s also great for mixing locations in one session.

Percy Warner Staircase

A mix of classic elegance & nature – this iconic Nashville park is beautiful in the summer time with all its lush greens! Wooded spots, tall grass, manicured grass – this spot has it all!

Tall Grass outside the studio

Right outside the studio, we have some tall organic grass & native wildflowers w/ little paths cut just for you! These spots are magic & especially quick and easy if you don’t want to wonder far from the AC available in the studio 😉
