There’s something undeniably heartwarming about in-home newborn sessions. They offer a glimpse into the first days of life with your little one, surrounded by the comfort of your own space. Over the past few months, I’ve had the honor of photographing several families in their homes, each with its own unique charm and personality.
Take James, for example. His home was filled with natural light, and the living room featured vibrant green plants that added a touch of life and warmth to every photo. His serene nursery, with its calming neutral tones, became the perfect backdrop for quiet moments with his parents.
Then there was Charlotte’s session, where her nursery was a dream of soft pink hues and delicate floral wallpaper. Her big sister joined in, cradling Charlotte with the sweetest expressions of sibling love. These moments felt so intimate and natural, showcasing the bond between the sisters and the love that fills their home.
Augustus’s session brought so much energy and fun. With two older brothers and a baby sister in tow, his family session was a lively celebration of togetherness. We transitioned from cozy living room snuggles to playful interactions, creating photos full of personality and connection.
If you have older siblings OR animals you want included in photos – an in-home session may be the easiest & most relaxing way for them to participate.
If you are dreaming of a studio look, but home feels the easiest logistically – we may be able to set up a pop-up studio like I did in Coraline’s newborn session! If this interests you, let’s chat to see if this option would work well in your home.
One of my favorite parts of in-home sessions is the ability to highlight each home’s personal details that make each family’s story unique. Whether it’s the nursery you carefully designed or the sunlight streaming into your favorite room, these elements will add extra story and meaning to your photos in years to come!
Winter is an especially wonderful time for in-home newborn sessions. With cozy blankets, soft lighting, and the warmth of family, these moments feel extra magical during the season of togetherness.
If you’re ready to document your baby’s first days in the most meaningful way, reach out to schedule your session. Let’s create photos that reflect the love and joy of your family, right in the place you call home.
