Welcome to the blog, where we compare the pros and cons of framed photos vs a box of matted prints. Whether you’re looking to enhance your home decor or preserve your favorite memories, choosing the right type of photo product can be a daunting task. In this blog, we will break down the differences between framed photos and a box of matted prints to help you make the best decision for your needs. Let’s get started!
Framed photos are typically large prints that are matted and framed in a custom-made frame. This is a great option if you’re looking to fill a small to large wall space or add an extra touch of style to a room. They also come ready to hang, meaning no DIYing is needed! So, you can easily display them in any room. These types of photos come in professional framing behind shatterproof, UV protected, non-glare glass. A downside to framed photos is that they can be expensive and aren’t easily changed out. However, don’t let that discourage you because there are a few other perks of framed prints:
A box of matted prints, on the other hand, is a great option for those who want to handle their own framing, but still want professional prints. This option is also great if you want to get several photos and be able to switch out which ones are framed or on display. It’s also fun because with each session you do, you can order more matted prints to add to your box. So, for example, you could get 6 photos from your 1st session – & hang all 6 on your wall. Then, after your next session, you could order 6 more photos, and change out 3 photos on your wall for 3 of the new photos — you’d then have 3 photos from each session on your wall & 3 photos from each session in your box. It is a fun way to build a gallery wall :-). Then with your third session, you could order 6 more prints to fit in your box — you could then go to 2 photos from each session on your wall. OR you could add 3 photos from the 3rd session to your wall & 3 photos to the box (with this option you’d have a 9 photo gallery wall). There are lots of different ways to design a gallery wall – but this method works especially well for grid gallery walls of all different sizes & numbers of photos :-). With this option, you will handle the framing yourself. The only downside to this option is that it is only available in certain sizes – but if its available in the size you need, its perfect!
Other perks to a box of matted prints:
Also – if you want to order individual loose prints (loose – meaning not mated or framed) – you will be able to order those through the online gallery once your digital gallery is purchased.
No matter which option you choose, both framed photos and a box of matted prints will help you preserve your favorite memories and add a personal touch to any.
