This maternity session with Megan was designed to feel calm, timeless, and fully centered on mom.
We photographed part of her session in the studio, then stepped outside into the garden, and finished nearby along a beautiful tree-lined path. The result? A mix of clean studio portraits and natural outdoor maternity photos—giving her variety without feeling rushed.
Maternity sessions don’t need to feel overly posed or fast-paced. This session was intentionally relaxed, with a focus on solo portraits that highlight confidence, movement, and the in-between moments that often become client favorites.
The goal is simple: images that feel like you in this season.
Megan wore several dresses from the studio wardrobe—an option available to all maternity clients.
The wardrobe includes:
There are also wardrobe options for little ones, making sessions easier for growing families. If outfit planning feels overwhelming, this takes it completely off your plate.
There is no right or wrong way to do maternity sessions. Some mom’s do sessions solo, some mom’s bring family members. Megan wanted to keep the focus mostly on solo pictures, but weave in a few photos w/ her partner here & there. As well as have her parents come join in at the end of a few family photos.
If you’re considering a maternity session, this is your reminder that it can be:
Studio, outdoor, or a mix of both—maternity photos are about honoring the magic in this season.
