There’s something extra special about a one-year milestone session—especially when it’s wrapped in spring sunshine and cherry blossoms.
Kate’s 1 year milestone session took place outdoors on one of those dreamy spring days where everything feels soft and light. The cherry trees were in full bloom, making the perfect backdrop for this celebration of her first year.
She wore the sweetest little birthday hat, the kind that made everyone smile the second they saw her. With her big brother close by and mama right next to them, this session turned into a beautiful mix of playful moments and tender connection.
Kate’s big brother was so gentle and curious—he kept making her giggle, and their sweet interactions added so much heart to the photos. These sibling moments are always some of my favorites to document, especially at this age when everything is new and full of wonder.
There were so many little in-between moments that stood out—Kate reaching up for mama’s hand, cuddles beneath the cherry trees, soft kisses on her forehead. These are the images I know mamas hold onto forever, because this stage is so fleeting but so full.
Your baby’s first year is a whirlwind of change, and that one-year milestone is a beautiful chance to pause and celebrate. They’re not quite babies anymore, but not quite toddlers either. It’s the beginning of a whole new chapter—and it deserves to be remembered.
As a family photographer in Franklin, TN, I love helping families create a little space to slow down, enjoy each other, and document the moments that mean the most.
