Let’s talk about my favorite Winter locations in Tennessee! Winter here is often overlooked, but it’s a magical time for photo sessions. With golden light, soft tones, gorgeous textures, stunning sunsets, and cooler temperatures (no worries about sweating in the heat!), it’s perfect for creating timeless memories without keeping little ones out too late (hello, early sunsets!).
Mild winters here in Middle Tennessee allow for outdoor sessions, and if we get a particularly cold day, I always offer flexible rescheduling options. Pairing outdoor photos with studio or in-home sessions is also a great way to keep kids comfortable.

The Big Hill (Requires a 10-Minute Hike)

For the adventurous family, this hill offers breathtaking panoramic views. The short hike is rewarded with a natural, open-air stage perfect for playful and candid shots with stunning winter skies.

Tree-Lined Path (Just a 1-Minute Walk)

This quiet path lined with lush trees offers a simple yet stunning backdrop, perfect for a timeless and classic winter feel. It’s close enough to the studio for a quick session combining both indoors & outdoors, making it ideal for families with young kids.

Sunset Right Outside the Studio

The studio’s surroundings offer an unbeatable view of the golden hour. The soft winter sun creates dreamy, warm tones that feel straight out of a painting—no long travel required. We will start in the studio & then step out the studio doors when the light is just right!

Tall Grassy Field (2-5 Minute Walk)

This field is magical in winter, with its golden grasses swaying gently in the breeze. It’s an ideal spot for little ones to explore while capturing those sweet moments of family connection.

Your Home or Backyard

Your home is the heart of your family’s story. Winter sessions here feel cozy and natural, capturing your family’s everyday moments in the spaces that mean the most to you. Familiar and sentimental, your backyard provides a relaxed environment for photos. Percy Warner Staircase

This location is a must-see. Framed by towering trees and surrounded by an open field & uncut dried grasses + wildflowers, the stairs offer a timeless, classic feel. This is a wonderful spot for families who want a little bit of structure and nature combined, creating a look that is both graceful and natural.

The Studio

For families preferring an indoor option, the studio offers a clean, versatile space with a variety of setups. Its warmth and simplicity are ideal for timeless portraits, no matter the weather outside.
