How does one celebrate their little one’s first year of life? You do it by having a 1 year cake smash photoshoot!! …and guess what? That’s exactly what we did for baby girl Emiyah! Her sweet family has been coming to the studio for a few years now and it’s been amazing to witness all these amazing life milestones of theirs. We’ve been through pregnancy, newborn, baby milestones, and family sessions so of course, we had to capture Emiyah’s 1 year.

One of my favorite kinds of sessions for little babies is a cake smash photoshoot. They can definitely get messy but it’s so worth it. Seeing them dive in, grab cake and eat with their little bare hands, get frosting all on their little face… I mean it can’t get any cuter. Oh but don’t worry, we always make sure to end up with a fun kitchen sink bath! It’s twice the fun for babies and makes for really memorable photos.

In this session, I love that the whole family was involved. Emiyah’s big siblings gave her all the hugs, played around with her, sang happy birthday to her… really showed how much they love baby sister. Take a look at these fun 1 year photos!
