When Soniah & I began planning her maternity session we decided that that an elegant, sophisticated, yet simple studio style would be perfect.

Classic studio maternity photos are quickly becoming a favorite of mine — I love the minimal backgrounds that allow the full focus of the photo to be on mamas, emotion & their connection with their growing babies. She choose 2 dresses from the studio wardrobe & I choose backdrops from my collection that would best compliment the dress colors. I love the variety we got!

You know what else I love? The fact that we focused this entire session on mama & her growing bump. This sweet mom has a little girl & a husband who may make appearances in later sessions, but for this session we took a moment to focus just on her. And I think that is so beautiful! The magic, the strength & the calm are so evident in this set of images.

No matter what pregnancy feels like for you — whether its ups & downs, lots of downs, complete chaos, or the bliss we all hope for — you deserve a moment to pause, breathe, and stand in awe of the wonderful thing you & your body are doing. If only just for a moment. That is what this session felt like…a pause to stand in awe of the beautiful strength of this task.
