This gorgeous wedding was held at Green Door Gourmet in Nashville, Tennessee on an unusually cold October day. Meg & Jackson were brimming with joy and thankfulness for each other & the loved ones that surrounded them. They welcomed us into their day and treated us just like family – we are so thankful for such welcoming couples!
A few unique things to look for as you scroll:
1) Meg’s engagement ring is so beautiful and possibly the most unique ring I’ve every photographed! The center stone was passed down from Meg’s mother’s engagement ring — she had told her husband that purple as her favorite color & it would make her happy to wear it everyday! So sweet that he made that happen with this stone, that has now been passed down to Meg.
2) Make sure to read the story of Meg’s veil! So sweet!
3) Jackson & Meg had written vows for each other an decided to read them to each other in private during their first look — some of my favorite photos happened during this time.
4) It was COLD! Luckily Meg was prepared – if you are planning a late fall, winter, or even earlier spring wedding where weather can be unpredictable – Take note of Meg’s coat!
We are so excited for Meg & Jackson’s new life & commitment to each other! And we are also excited that they have announced that Meg is expecting! I cannot wait to photograph their sweet baby next year and document their family as it grows and changes!
– What was your favorite moment of your wedding day?
Meg- My godmother happens to be the opera singer Kallen Esperian and she was so kind as to sing for us during the ceremony. She chose to sing La Vie En Rose by Edith Piaf. It was so incredibly emotional. I was so touched by her talent and her love. It was also amazing getting to see how her performance affected our guests- I never thought I’d see some of my uncles cry like that. Second favorite moment had to be dancing at the reception. What a blast! OH! And it was pretty special being able to tell most of our family and friends in person that we have a baby on the way!
Jackson- 100% Kallen singing was the most memorable moment of the wedding. I was holding it together just fine, until she started singing… I lost it. As Meg also said, being able to tell 3 of my groomsmen and family the day of the wedding that we were pregnant was also pretty special.
– How did you meet your husband/wife? What is your dating and/or proposal story?
We met through a mutual friend in college in Memphis, TN. We were friends for a few years and then finally realized we were more than friends. After college we moved to Auburn, AL so that Jackson could get his masters. He proposed in mile 1 of a seven mile hike. We have never hiked faster than on that day. We couldn’t wait to get back to tell everyone! Now we live in Baton Rouge, LA where Jackson is pursuing a Ph.D at LSU.
– Can you share something you learned through the wedding planning process?
I was never very focused on the little details, but I still spent way too much time worrying about them. I couldn’t even remember what everything looked like until I saw the pictures again. I will always remember the dancing and the memories. I think our band choice was one of the most important decisions we made and of course our photographer. I knew that Sarah and Mark were going to get awesome shots, so it took the pressure off of me to try to remember everything.
