One of today’s bride and groom’s favorite pastimes has been collecting vinyl records and going to music festivals. As proof of this, when we shot their engagement session a few months back, they chose a record store for the key location. Since music has always been a significant part of their relationship, and they live in Music City (Nashville), they decided to continue the record-loving with a rustic, music-themed wedding based on their favorite music and vinyl records. In the bride’s own words, “it perfectly reflected our personality and relationship.”
Christine further describes that “the whole wedding day to me was perfect and beautiful. But my favorite moment of the ceremony was towards the end when we were praying; DJ and I had our foreheads against each other and I peeked down and saw our hands together with our wedding bands on. It was something only I could see from my perspective and made me feel like we were the only two people there.
“Our music-themed wedding was of course tied to the [reception] music selection as well, so we had a great list of oldies and funky music that we had so much fun dancing to with all our friends and family.”
“My favorite part of the ceremony was seeing her walk down the aisle,” DJ says. “We decided to not see each other before the ceremony, so when she turned the corner I was overcome with happiness – she was beautiful and I knew this was the beginning of our lives together. I felt excited because there has been nothing else I’ve ever wanted more, or been so sure about in my life.”
Their testimony in words is what we’ve tried to capture in photographs; we hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
