Tara + Geoff (remember their engagement session a few weeks back?) got married last weekend at the heavenly Hermitage Hotel. Literally: the ceilings are painted a pale sky-blue, dotted with light fluffy clouds. How beautiful is that?
“My favorite moment was the first look,” Tara says. “I was sobbing walking the length of the gorgeous veranda at The Hermitage Hotel to Geoff. His back was to me, and I kept thinking the man in the tuxedo is mine, that’s my Geoffrey’s distinctive stance, and all the nerves and three hours of getting ready were for him. I was so ready to see him.”
There was a very historic note to the wedding as a whole: “Something Old” was the brooch in Tara’s hair, which belonged to her dad’s mom. “Something New” was the veil, her Grandma and she handmade together. “Something borrowed, something blue” was an aquamarine tennis bracelet that belonged to her dear friends’ mom and her flower girl’s grandma. The reception room at the Hermitage Hotel, rich with Nashville history, just looks the part, with the gorgeous wood panelling and epic paintings. And their first dance at the wedding? A classic oldie, Fly Me to the Moon by Frank Sinatra. There’s such a beautiful romance in old things that have so many stories already in them, and this couple really latched onto that and flew with it.
P.S. I secretly love a few pictures in the middle of the First Look session, because they remind me of William and Kate’s Royal Wedding. See if you can spot them!
