One of the things that makes a wedding unique are the details. Behind several elements of Kristi + Logan’s wedding were little stories that added such depth of character to the experience as a whole, something we love when capturing people’s special day!
One of those details was Logan’s great-grandfather’s 1965 Ford Fairlane, used as their getaway car. The car had previously been passed down to Logan’s grandfather with the intention that it would one day be Logan’s car. Logan’s grandfather passed away in October shortly after Kristi and Logan got engaged, but before he passed they were able to share with him that they were going to use the car at the wedding! It was a great way to honor his memory before friends and family.
They also danced to a song at the wedding called “Managua Nicaragua”, on special request of Logan’s grandmother. This song was played at her wedding, and they happened to be going to Nicaragua for their honeymoon! Logan grandmother was the “Jitterbug Queen of Atlanta” way back in the day, and this was her moment to shine. You can tell from the pictures that it was her favorite moment of the night.
Whether it’s a big detail, like a family heirloom getaway car, or something smaller like a dance at the reception, these moments made the day personal to the bride and groom, and something extra-special to remember for years to come.
